As we say goodbye to that chill in the air, and welcome the sunshine, think about incorporation the colors and warmth of a sunset into your makeup! Summer beauty is all about bright corals, warm browns, flattering nudes, bright pinks, and shimmering golds. Think about a flawless complexion, with a warm glow, and pops of color and shimmer. Today I'm going to reveal Part I of what's in my summer beauty collection!
BASE
(header)During these warm months, layer after layer of cake foundation won't survive. Instead try a light dewy base like the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. Mix in a touch of the Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer for a hint of shimmer. You want to to look fresh and effortless, so concealer is an absolute must! And on top of that, I bit of Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Éclat. It will bring lightness and help eliminate the darkness underneath your eyes.
CHEEKS

Blush and bronzer are key to summer beauty because they bring that gorgeous warmth and glow to your face, while providing definition. The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow is the perfect example. Swirl a cream foundation brush into the bronzer, and apply around the forehead, cheeks, cheekbones, and jawline. It will give you that gorgeous vacation glow.
Cream formulas maintain themselves better in the heat, and tend to be multiuser products that you can use for both cheeks and lips. These multiuser products such as YSL's Kiss and Blush, and Nars' the Multiple are easy to use, and take up less space, making them ideal for traveling or throwing into your beach bag.
EYES

Cue that sigh of relief, complicated eye makeup doesn't have a place in summer beauty. Stay away from that heavy eyeliner and black shadow. The Tom Ford eye shadow duos are one of my all time favorite products. The creams are long lasting, iridescent, and have immense color payoff. the glitter is sophisticated, and won't look like theatre makeup. The packaging is also ideal for traveling. The YSL palette is great as well, it contains red-toned browns, perfect for summer. Make sure to touch up and fill in your brows, my favorite is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. Lastly, never ski curling your eyelashes, the best is Shu Umera's eyelash curler, and apply lashings of mascara!
LIPS

Lip color will give you a pop of color or shine, and can serve as the perfect finishing touch to your outfit. From the Tom Ford summer collection I picked up Paradiso, the perfect bright pink, and Rose Soleil, a shimmery rosy hue. Another amazing product is YSL's Volupte Tint-in-Oil. They are hydrating, ultra glossy, and taste amazing! If you aren't into lipstick, and prefer something more subtle, Fresh's Sugar lip balm are the best. They're a great option because they contain SPF, and secondly because the formula contains sugar, which retains water, they actually moisturize better than chapstick.
Happy Summer! xx
